About the Artist
I am wife to a dear and hardworking man, and mother to three beautiful children. I have always loved to draw, but I specifically remember being drawn to black and gray artwork around the age of 10. The way that it captures the interplay of light and shadow that one often overlooks in colour is so gripping. Black and gray art has a timelessness to it that is simply unmatched by colour art..
I received my first commission for a portrait in 2000, and have done many over the years that have touched my heart. Drawing someone's image is very personal; the amount of time spent on perfecting the eyes, the ears, the nose, the way the hair drifts to one side, the crook of a smile, the gentle dimple in a cheek... All of these things are so much a part of a person, and so important to get right. If an artist doesn't make their artwork personal to them, it will show in their work. I hope that when you view my work you see just how much of myself I pour into each piece.
Details
All portraits are drawn in graphite only, on 14" X 17" acid-free paper. You can order a single subject portrait or a double subject portrait, but no groups. I can work from a good quality digital photo, professional photos, or good quality 35mm photos. The key here is "quality", so please only submit photos that are clear, free of blurring, and have good lighting.
